Residents of Steeple Close in Canford Heath gathered for a Jubilee Street Picnic on Monday evening and had a pleasant surprise as The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh made an appearance on a balcony overlooking the proceedings.
In truth, the Royal couple were mere cardboard cut outs crafted on a home computer, but it didn't prevent the joyful gathering from drinking a toast to Her Majesty before singing the National Anthem aloud.
The whole evening was a fantastic joint effort as residents old and new joined in the celebrations and got to know each other a little better bringing the community together.
