AN inquest was opened into the death of Geoffrey Reed yesterday afternoon.
Police launched a murder investigation last week following the discovery of human remains in a wooded area of Lycthett Matravers, north of Poole.
The inquest, which was opened and adjourned at Bournemouth Coroners Court on Monday, heard how 57-year-old Mr Reed from Cecil Road, Boscombe, had died from multiple blunt force injuries.
Three men appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates Court last week, charged with his murder.
