DETECTIVES have been granted more time to question the West Howe murder suspects.
Angelo Rodrigues, 44, died from multiple stab wounds at his home in Coleman Road, Bournemouth, on Friday night.
A 40-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, both from Bournemouth, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are being quizzed by detectives.
An inquest into Mr Rodrigues’ death was opened and adjourned yesterday, revealing that he died from multiple stab wounds, a police spokesman said.
Residents in the block of flats now at the centre of a murder inquiry have been left shaken.
Alex Watts, who was friendly with Angelo, said: “I haven’t slept for two nights. We still can’t believe it.”
Mr Watts said he believes Angelo’s elderly mother lives in Portugal.
Will Bedford, 39, of Moore Avenue, said: “It’s pretty disturbing. I am shocked it happened and I think it’s totally wrong.
“I don’t think people really feel safe.”
Ground floor resident Susan Edwards told the Daily Echo: “I feel sorry for him.
“He did not deserve this.
“I don’t think anybody’s sleeping an awful lot at the moment.”
She added: “I would like to see whoever has done this go down and pay the consequences.”
Mrs Edwards and husband Chris described Angelo, who was Portuguese, as a polite man who had few visitors besides a brother.
Mrs Edwards, 58, said she heard Angelo shouting ‘Call the police’ as she was hanging out her washing on Friday.
She said: “We think he may have had a mobile phone and called the cops saying he’d been stabbed, and lived long enough to say where he was.”
A 21-year-old woman from MacLean Road said: “I don’t think people want to walk around the streets at the moment.
“It’s a bit scary. There are a lot kids around here and people getting murdered is not good at all.”
