A BOURNEMOUTH man who was caught speeding at more than 100mph on a Dorset dual carriageway has received a driving ban.
Andrew John Gilchrist, 45, was clocked at 109mph on a 70mph stretch of the A35 at Northbrook, Dorchester, when he was at the wheel of a Land Rover on May 23, last year.
Gilchrist, whose address was given as Queen's Park Avenue, Bournemouth, was sentenced at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on June 7 after pleading guilty to speeding at an earlier hearing.
The defendant had also admitted driving at 68mph in a 50mph zone on the A338 between the Blackwater junction and Cooper Dean in the same vehicle on June 12, 2020.
The bench issued Gilchrist with a 30-day driving disqualification. He was also fined £1,160 and ordered to pay £110 costs and £70 surcharge.
