Of people aged 80 and over in the county, 57,947 people have had their first dose and 55,887 people have had both doses.
Clinical lead for the Dorset COVID-19 vaccination programme Dr Andy Rutland said: “We are absolutely delighted that we have reached the milestone of one million doses in Dorset and it is something that could not have happened without the dedication and efforts of everyone involved in the programme.
“There is still a way to go and it is not too late to get your first vaccination so we are encouraging everyone who has not yet booked an appointment to do so via the National Booking System as getting the jab is by far the best way you can protect yourself and help the return to normal.”
A little further afield in the New Forest, 134,724 first doses have been given and 109,459 second doses - a total of 244,183.
There have been 6,982,418 doses given in the South West and 64,904,433 across the whole of England.
