Peter Cox of New Milton wonders if readers can identify anyone in this photograph of the Red Arrows Display team who had taken part in the Air Show at Bournemouth Airport, Hurn circa 1987.
He thinks it was the last air show to be held at the airport. Peter was working for McCarthy & Stone and part of his duties was to drive the midi-coach as shown, all over the UK.
His coach was chosen to convey the Red Arrows to where ever they wanted to relax and socialise and believes the hosts to have been the Red Arrows Association Club.
The picture of the team was taken not far from the airport. The man in the brown blazer on the left is Peter, and his young female assistant is on the opposite side. The man kneeling down in the front row with the white hair was the team leader.
Peter had a brilliant weekend with the team, the highlight being the cross-over of two of the jets and going on board their Hercules transport plane. A big fan of the Red Arrows, he still follows their progress to this day.
