Children in Need will present a documentary on children's mental health in the UK as part of its programming ahead of the event.
A&E doctor and UK Youth Mental Health Ambassador Dr. Alex George will be heading the documentary, and will explore the wide range of mental health issues currently impacting children and young people.
He will also find out how local charities, including BBC Children in Need funded projects, are making a difference.
It will look at how, for many people, mental health worsened during the pandemic, which Dr. Alex has seen first-hand as the UK Youth Mental Health Ambassador.

This is also made more poignant as Alex’s 19-year-old brother Llyr - who had been struggling with anxiety during lockdown - took his own life in July 2020.
Alex will follow the journeys of young people who are facing mental health issues, and explore the difference that can be made thanks to local charities and projects like SAFA, The Wave Project and YoungMinds
He commented on the film, saying: “I am so proud of this film, and the stories that we have been able to say thanks to the courage of the young people who have so bravely shared their stories.
"These past 18 months have been incredibly hard, and have impacted the lives of so many children and young people, many of whom have been left feeling sad, anxious and alone, but I hope this film brings hope, and shines a light on the remarkable charities and projects across the UK that are making a difference when it is needed most.”
When will Children in need 2021 take place?
Children in Need will have its main programme broadcast on Friday November 19 on BBC One.
There will be an evening of entertainment and awareness raising of issues affecting children everywhere, with money being raised to help support them.
