British actor, John Cleese has been criticized by late-night talk show host and radio presenter, Graham Norton after his remarks about 'cancel culture'.
The 82-year-old former-Monty Python member, who also starred in the 1975 sitcom, Faulty Towers, made the remarks on the BBC's flagship news programme, 'Today' on Radio 4.
This is the latest in a long line of remarks made by the broadcaster, who has been very vocal about his thoughts on 'cancel culture' in recent years.
What did John Cleese say about cancel culture?
I've had a very low opinion of the BBC for over 20 years

It's been formed partly by my own experiences, but largely by conversations with talented people who are trying to make programmes with them
It's become a parody of bureaucracy https://t.co/bZBs8vIRmM
In an interview on BBC Radio 4, the actor said that while he has not been offered a TV show by the BBC, he would turn down any offer, saying: "If they did, I would say, ‘Not on your nelly!’ I wouldn’t get five minutes into the first show before I’d been cancelled or censored.”
The Faulty Towers actor added that he's "given up on" modern television.

The Irish presenter, who hosts the Graham Norton Show on BBC One, said "cancel culture" was "the wrong word," and that it "should be 'accountability.'
“John Cleese has been very public recently about complaining about what you can’t say.
“It must be very hard to be a man of a certain age who's been able to say whatever he likes for years, and now suddenly there’s some accountability.”
The 59-year-old, according to the Telegraph, added: “It’s free speech, but not consequence-free. I’m aware of the things I say.”
Why did John Cleese leave Monty Python?
Monty Python's Flying Circus lasted four seasons but by the end of the show's run, Cleese felt as though its quality was declining due to Graham Chapman's alcoholism and felt he (Cleese) had little new to offer.
When did Monty Python stop?
By 1974, the comedy group's last film, the Holy Grail ended abruptly after the entire cast was arrested before cutting to black.
This marked the end of the Monty Python TV show and films.
How old was John Cleese in Faulty Towers?
When Faulty Towers first aired in 1975, John Cleese was 35.
