Downing Street has confirmed that Oliver Dowden will become deputy prime minister.
It comes after former deputy prime minister Dominic Raab resigned following allegations that he bullied staff members while working as a cabinet minister.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was presented with an official report on Raab's behaviour across different departments.
Back in February Raab had pledged to resign from his role if the allegations were upheld.

Oliver Dowden appointed deputy prime minister
Conservative MP for Hertsmere Oliver Dowden will become the new Deputy prime Minister but will also remain the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Dowden was chosen for the new role as Alex Chalk was chosen to take over the role of justice secretary.
Chalk is now the 10th justice secretary in 10 years and was lord chancellor, seeing him be responsible for protecting and upholding the rule of law and independence of the judiciary.
Back in October, Chalk was brought into the government by Sunak as Defence Minister after previously serving as the solicitor general and a prisons minister under Boris Johnson when he was PM.
