The Royal Family's garden parties are one of the most anticipated events for fans of the monarchs.
Seeing over 30,000 guests each year receive a golden invitation for the chance to spend a summer afternoon in the gardens of Buckingham Palace or the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Described by the Royal Family as a way for royals to meet a "broad range of people from all walks of life, all of whom have made a positive impact in their community", the garden parties are an exclusive event.
With the special event being so exclusive, everyone wants an invite, but it's not as easy as it might seem.
How to get invited to the garden party at Buckingham Palace
As the Royal Family website states, an established network of sponsors is used to select invited guests.
These include Lord-Lieutenants, Societies and Associations, Government Departments, Local Government, the Services, the Church and other Faiths.
Sponsors then nominate guests for invitations who are lucky enough to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace.
However, it is not possible for anyone to 'acquire invitations through direct applications to Buckingham Palace.
To get invited to the garden parties there are strict requirements, as you must be over 18 and not already attended a garden party.
