Those eager to catch a glimpse of who will be performing at Glastonbury 2023 may have been surprised to see the unknown band The ChurnUps alongside major groups on the Pyramid Stage.

This led many festival goers to assume that the group was actually a front for a much more well-known band.

The ChurnUps, unheard by anyone, is set to appear alongside the Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood.

However, the American rock group, which was formed as a one-man project by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, has added to speculation that they are the mystery band.

Posting on its official Twitter account, the Foo Fighters told fans in a written note: "Hey, it's been a while,

"Now that we've returned from our first run of shows, I felt compelled to reach out and thank you all for being there for us.

"Every night, when I see you singing, it makes me sing harder. When I see you screaming, it makes me scream louder. When I see your tears, it brings me to tears. And when I see your joy, it brings me joy.

"But, I see you... and it feels good to see you, churning up these emotions together.

"Because we've always done this together. Time and time again. See you soon."

Some fans saw this as a direct hint at the band being The ChurnUps as one user highlighted the use of the word "churning up".

They said: "Churning Up” while another added: "CHURNING UP THESE EMOTIONS OMFG."
