Olympic champion Tom Daley has revealed he is going to return to diving with hopes of a place at the Paris 2024 games after his son’s sweet request.
Tom married American screenwriter Dustin Lance Black in 2017 and the couple have since welcomed two children.
The 29-year-old last competed when he won gold in the 10m synchro alongside Matty Lee at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
He became the first Team GB diver to win four Olympic medals, including one gold and three bronze.
The Plymouth-born diver has won a combined total of 11 World, Commonwealth and European Championship gold medals.
However, in a new YouTube video he said a recent trip to Colorado Springs in the United States had reignited his competitive spirit with only a year to go until Paris.

Tom and Dustin travelled to Colorado for the birth of their second son, Phoenix, with Tom saying he had not realised its status as an Olympic city until they arrived.
They took their eldest son Robbie to the museum while they were there and felt inspired to attempt a return.
Tom said: "We had the best time at the Olympic and Paralympic Museum playing different games and at the end we went into a room to watch a video about what it means to be an athlete and see those inspirational journeys.
"I just wept, I couldn't control myself, I hadn't grieved diving.
"I hadn't been doing it anymore and that I in theory had retired and couldn't imagine going back to doing it again.
"Coming out of that museum something changed in me and that has lit a new flame and fire inside me to see where this goes."
He added: “Robbie said to me, ‘Papa, I want to see you dive in the Olympics.'”
Tom spoke about his concerns, saying he doesn’t know if his body is “going to be able to get back on a diving board.”
He went on to say: “I don’t know if this is going to be a completely silly idea of me getting back in the pool or an opportunity for me to do this recreationally and have a bit of fun without any pressure, or if my body is going to be able to get back on a diving board and dive half-decently.
“I don’t know what that’s going to look like. Paris 2024 is definitely a goal. I don’t know if it’s going to be possible but you never say never.”
