You might not believe it but it’s that time of year again, as Channel 4 viewers are set to be welcomed into the Bake Off tent once more.
As much as we don’t want to admit it, summer is coming to an end and our TV schedules are about to fill up again throughout autumn.
The Great British Bake Off returns to our screens in September, with new co-host Alison Hammond joining Noel Fielding.
The ITV presenter is best known for her role on This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby and Dermot O’Leary.
Alison Hammond has revealed Eamonn Holmes did a speech at her mum's funeral
But earlier this year, it was announced Alison would be replacing Matt Lucas who stepped down in December last year.
However, it’s not the first time she is appearing on the show as the 48-year-old featured on The Great British Bake Off as a contestant for its Stand Up 2 Cancer special in 2020.
When does The Great British Bake Off start in 2023?
Channel 4 is yet to release the exact date for the start of the 2023 series but earlier today (August 30), the Bake Off account posted an exciting update to fans on Instagram.
Alongside Alison and Noel, judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood could be seen standing together outside the famous tent.
The caption reads: “New series. New bakers. New host.
“Join Paul, Prue, Noel and Alison in the Tent of Dreams as The Great British Bake Off returns to our screens. Coming soon to @Channel4. #GBBO”
As eager viewers await the official date, many will also be wondering who will be joining the new line-up of budding bakers to see if they have what it takes to be crowned the winner of 2023.
It’s only a matter of time before we get to see who knows how to avoid a soggy bottom and who can create the most mesmerising showstopper.
Last year saw Syabira Yusoff win the title and after the announcement she said: “Thank you so much. I can’t believe it, honestly it hasn’t sunk in yet, this is the biggest achievement in my life.
“All the hard work, all the trial and error, it has all been worth it. I am very, very proud.”
