NEW Milton Town’s relegation fears deepened following a 3-0 defeat against 10-man Downton at Fawcett’s Field.
Struggling Linnets slipped to second from bottom in the Wessex Premier as visitors Downton climbed back to the summit.
Declan McGregor netted twice for Downton before seeing red in an incident which came immediately after his second goal.
However, Milton could find no route back into Saturday’s clash once Vince Rusher had made it 3-0 prior to the interval.
Luckless Milton’s misery was compounded as they were forced to replace both Dan Cox and Bradley Morris due to injury.
Darren Curtis’s men have now failed to register a win in their past four league games.
