INJURY victim Charlie Daniels has revealed his frustration as he anxiously awaits a verdict on whether he can rejoin Cherries’ promotion bid.
The luckless left-back has been confined to the treatment room since sitting out the Dorset club’s home clash with Crewe on January 26.
Daniels, 25, had previously played through the pain barrier after sustaining a foot problem during the FA Cup clash against Wigan last month.
A leading performer this season, the defender managed to start Cherries’ next four games before being forced to take a break.
After a medical consultation on Tuesday, the Londoner was told to rest for a further two weeks to see if the damage would heal.
Should Daniels be forced to have an operation to cure the problem, it would almost certainly rule him out of the rest Cherries’ campaign.
The former Orient man is backing Cherries to prosper in his absence but he admits being restricted to a watching brief has been hard to take.
Daniels told the Daily Echo: “Frustrating is the main word. I am not the greatest watcher in the world anyway. But it is what it is and you just have to get on with it.
“The lads are doing really well at the minute. It is all going in the right direction.”
Daniels is still hoping to boost Cherries’ promotion bid by making a rapid return to action.
He said: “Hopefully, if it settles down in the next two weeks, I can avoid the operation.”
Recent recruit Matt Ritchie has proved a successful stand-in and Daniels added: “It is not his preferred position but he has done really well there.”
Meanwhile, Cherries boss Eddie Howe was last night considering whether to enter the loan market for a replacement left-back.
