Dorchester T U11s 2 Poole T Wessex U11s 2
Poole Town Wessex suffered an agonising penalties defeat to Dorchester Town in the under-11s final at Ferndown.
Despite going 1-0 down early on, Poole recovered to level the scores at full-time thanks to a second-half strike from Charlie Shears.
And Poole looked to be on their way to collecting the silverware when Shears scored his second of the match.
But a late equaliser from Dorchester sent the game into a shoot-out which they won 4-3 to deny Poole.
Poole manager Colin Byrne said: “It was a huge effort from the team. They always tried to pass the ball on the ground despite being up against very direct opposition.”
