ADAM Nicholass’s equaliser five minutes from time snatched the title for Rossgarth Youth under-16s in their last-day showdown with Dexter Sports.
Rossgarth gained the point they needed to lift the BYFL Under-16 Division Two championship when Nicholass broke down the left and sent a rasping shot across goal to level the match.
The trophy had seemed destined for Dexters, who started the day two points behind their title rivals, and took the lead through Korrakot Pass Chatin’s deft first-half finish.
And despite Dexters’ Jerome Castello having a goal chalked off for an infringement on the Rossgarth goalkeeper during the second half, the feisty clash at Canford Park Arena finished level thanks to Nicholass’s strike.
Champions Rossgarth ended the season with an unbeaten league record.
The Verwood-based club scored 25 goals in the 12 matches they played, and conceded just 13 times.
