IAN Booth cracked a majestic century to spearhead Swanage to an eight-wicket victory over defending champions St George’s.

Booth (100) registered his 17th ton for the club, his swashbuckling 85-ball innings including no fewer than 12 fours and three towering sixes.

In a match reduced to 30 overs a side due to inclement weather, Ryan Norman took three wickets for Swanage as St George’s totalled 194 for six.

Booth then put on 50 for the first wicket with Matt Thomas (35) before sharing an unbroken third-wicket partnership of 85 with Ben Baczala (40) as Swanage eased to 195 for two.

  • An opening stand of 104 between Peter Hoar and Nigel Stannard laid the foundations for Corfe Mullen’s impressive 64-run win over Shillingstone.

Hoar (69) and Stannard (54) helped Corfe Mullen post a challenging 208 for eight with Paul Webster (22) boosting the total.

Matt Bray (5-28), Graeme Peak (2-15) and Stannard (2-29) then combined to dismiss Shillingstone for 144 as Corfe Mullen maintained their unbeaten record.

  • Ferndown Wayfarers’ miserable start to the season continued following a four-wicket defeat at Fovant.

Eric Linge’s explosive innings proved in vain, his undefeated 92 coming off just 54 balls and including no fewer than nine sixes.

Fovant (193-6) chased down Wayfarers’ 192 for nine and condemned their opponents to a third successive defeat.

  • Leaders Dewlish (161-5) recorded a third straight victory when they saw off Cranborne (135) by 26 runs, while Christchurch scratched against Winton.
