CHRIS Holder is aiming to produce more Millennium Stadium magic to boost his world title bid and admits: “I need a big performance.”

The defending Grand Prix champion is sixth in the 2013 standings after dropping 15 points adrift of leader Emil Sayfutdinov on Saturday.

Holder missed the Czech GP semi-final cut in Prague last time out as Sayfutdinov and Tai Woffinden again delivered stellar displays.

The Australian boasts a proud record in the British Grand Prix, having won the Cardiff showpiece in 2010 and 2012 and finished third in 2011. He is determined to continue that run on June 1.

The Pirates captain, 25, told speedwaygp.com: “I have got to make sure I am going well in that one to get back some points on these boys. I need a big performance.

"Emil and Woffy got a lot of points again (in Prague) and they are pulling away a little bit. I can’t leave it too late.

“I need to do some practice and testing days with Johnsy (tuner Peter Johns) and I need to work it out fast. The changes I am making through the meeting aren’t working for me. When that doesn’t happen, you start scratching your head.

"We are trying all the time and I have got to be a little bit better than this.”
