PIRATES chief Matt Ford has confirmed that new recruit Przemyslaw Pawlicki is set to make his eagerly-anticipated Poole debut tomorrow night.
Ford reported that the 21-year-old had come through a practice session after suffering a leg injury in a crash during a Grand Prix qualifier six days ago.
The Dorset club revealed that Pawlicki had contacted them to say he was now looking forward to his first Pirates appearance against King’s Lynn.
Speaking ahead of the Elite League clash with the Stars, Ford told the club website: “He rang me yesterday and confirmed everything had gone well and, as much as he was looking forward to his Polish league fixture for Leszno today, he was even more excited about his Poole debut.
“That sort of attitude is great to hear and I know Tomas (H Jonasson) is equally keen to again pull on the Poole colours.
“After all the problems we have had, I am really looking forward to seeing how our newly-shaped side works.
“I have no doubt King’s Lynn will be a tough side to take on. They have already taken us to a last-heat decider here at Wimborne Road and I am sure that is something that Sky TV would love to see happen again.”
Both Pawlicki and Jonasson were drafted in by Ford in a bid to help revive Pirates’ fortunes following a troubled start to the season.
Pawlicki replaced injured Darcy Ward, while Jonasson came in at the expense of unfortunate teenage reserve Kyle Howarth.
Pawlicki is tomorrow expected to fly into England after Leszno’s clash was today postponed.
