MATT Tubbs was again linked with a move to Rotherham United today as speculation over the striker’s Cherries future intensified.

Millers manager Steve Evans has previously failed in a number of attempts to reunite with Tubbs following the pair’s successful partnership at Crawley Town.

Evans has revealed that Rotherham are currently in talks over potential deals for four players – with forwards reportedly on the club’s radar.

But Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell says there have been no offers for Tubbs – despite continuing transfer rumours surrounding the 28-year-old.

Asked this afternoon if he was aware of any bids for Tubbs, Mitchell said: “No. There have been no bids.”

Verwood-raised Tubbs signed for Cherries in a club-record deal in January 2012, but the form of Lewis Grabban and Brett Pitman saw him restricted to six starts and 25 substitute appearances in League One last season.

Evans, a known admirer of Tubbs, could try to tempt Cherries with a close-season swoop as he prepares the newly-promoted Millers for life in the third tier.

Speaking at a fans’ forum last night, Evans said: “There are three or four players whose agents we are dealing with.”

Tubbs is contracted to Cherries until the summer of 2015.
