DORSET champion Sophie Keech clinched the South West Girls’ Championship title at Bath Golf Club on Sunday.
The 17-year-old Parkstone player, formerly of Lyme Regis, won with a stunning first-round 69 and a 73 on the second round.
Sophie’s five-under-par 69 (red tees) is believed to be a new girls’ course record.
Ferndown’s Fay Carpenter, meanwhile, finished runner-up in the 36-hole nett competition and fifth overall.
Sophie and Faye missed out on the county team trophy to winners Gloucester by just one point.
In the Buchanan Cup, Lilli Horn (Ferndown GC) played in her first major competition and scored a respectable 33 points.
