BOURNEMOUTH Badgers booked their place in the final of the East and South Dorset Under-12 League Cup with an impressive victory over a spirited Winton team at Winton Oval.
Badgers set up a date in the final with Parley Pirates at Colehill on Friday, July 26, while Winton can take great credit for progressing to the semi-final in their first season together.
Jake Feldman (27) was one of three Badgers batsmen to retire with Dan Spotswood (25) and Lawrence Clarke (25) also hitting their quota of runs.
James Martch (21) added to the total with Sam Taylor (24) and Matt Young (4) both remaining undefeated as Badgers closed their innings on 146 for one.
Max Jenkins (1-6), Luke Fiddaman (1-6), Sam Taylor (2-2), James Martch (1-5) and Matt Young (1-0) were among the wickets in the Winton reply with Ben Deer (9) top scoring.
Badgers wicket-keeper Matt Fisher conceded no byes, while Jake Feldman took a couple of sharp catches in the slips.
“It was a good bowling display from us and a good fielding exhibition from Winton,” said Badgers manager Mark Feldman.
