FOR only the seventh time in 110 years, the Leven Handicap Trophy has been won by a lady – Cheryl Noble.
The Dudsbury player won in a play-off with Rob Pitt (Ferndown) and home player Danny Anderson after all three players carded net 67s.
The prestigious Bournemouth Association of Golf Clubs was played at Queens Park golf course.
The Leven Scratch Bowl was won by Bournemouth & Meyrick Park’s Neil Bishop who carded an impressive 73.
Queens Park won the men’s team shield while Boscombe Ladies won the women’s event.
The ladies were led by Shirley O’Shea who is one of the seven previous ladies to win the Leven Handicap Cup.
Making up her winning team were Sue Barrett, Theresa Minardi, Linda Smith, Carole Dowland and Koko McCurtain.
