FORMER Bournemouth Dolphin Tom Kingham came home with gold and silver medals as a member of Millfield School’s relay squad in Sheffield.
The 14-year-old clocked one of only two sub 55-second splits achieved by any of the 40 swimmers in the final as he anchored the 4x100m freestyle team to victory in 3:43.86.
Kingham, who lives in Burley, recorded 54.99.
Five days later, he swam the butterfly leg in 1:01.46 as the Somerset school came second to Barnet Copthall in the 4x100m medley relay.
Hopes of a third relay medal were dashed when Millfield were disqualified in the heats of the 4x200m freestyle.
In his individual events, Kingham was ninth, 11th, 13th and 16th, respectively, in the 200m freestyle, 200m medley, 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly.
