DORSET'S Georgia Hall will be hoping to maintain her rich vein of form when she bids to help Europe wrest from America the Junior Solheim Cup.

Wallisdown-based Hall is tomorrow due to feature in the opening fourballs and foursomes matches when the event gets under way in Colorado.

Staged at Inverness Golf Club in Denver, the biennial team matchplay competition pits the 12 best females aged between 12 and 18 from Europe against the cream of the USA.

Hall today attended the opening ceremony and team dinner and will be looking to make an impression when the event concludes on Wednesday with 12 singles matches.

She secured one of six automatic places in the European team when she lifted the British Amateur Championship in June, while captain Janice Moodie also named six wild cards.

Hall flew to America on the back of finishing tied 42nd in the Ricoh Women's British Open earlier this month, sharing the silver medal with New Zealand's Lydia Ko, who currently tops the world amateur rankings.

It was her second appearance in a Major with the Remedy Oak and Parkstone member missing the cut on her debut in the Kraft Nabisco Championship in California in April.

Hall, who was named after the American state in which Nick Faldo won the 1996 Masters, currently leads the European amateur rankings and is sixth on the world list.

The former Oakmead School and Oakmead College pupil will compete in her third Major - the Evian Championship - in September before attempting to turn pro later this year.

Europe has twice claimed the Junior Solheim Cup, in 2003 and 2007, although American, triumphant in 2009, retained it following a 12-12 draw in Ireland two years ago.
