VERWOOD Town boss Adie Arnold has bolstered his attacking options with the capture of much-travelled frontman Joe Kittle ahead of tomorrow's trip to Brockenhurst (7.45pm).
Kittle made Potterne Park his latest port of call following spells with Christchurch, Bournemouth Poppies, Brock and Lymington Town over the past few seasons.
But Arnold is hoping the nomadic striker will settle at Verwood.
On his latest acquisition, Arnold told the Daily Echo: “Joe has been at a few clubs and he needs to find somewhere he is happy.
“He is a very good player when he is fully fit and firing. Hopefully, we can get the best out of him because he can be a real asset for us.
“I felt we needed a little more depth to the squad because, while we have a good side, at this level you need a squad of around 17 or 18.
“When the squad is threadbare, the players hold the cards, but when you have good competition for places and people have a few bad games, the manager can change it around a bit. Joe approached me about the prospect of playing here and I felt we needed to strengthen, so it has worked out well.”
Meanwhile, Arnold’s second recruit of the week, striker Jack Satterley, is unlikely to play at Brockenhurst while the finer points of a dual registration deal with Southern League outfit Bashley are agreed.
Satterley was Potters’ top scorer last term with 15 goals.
Potters: (from) Lynch, Evans, Homer, Oldring, Kelly, Dyer, Saxby, Webb, Haskell, Lovell, Hill, Elysee, Murray, Kimber, Gilham, Kittle.
- Boss Simon Browne has warned his Hamworthy United charges against complacency when they travel to Fawley (7.45pm).
“We have had a good start but there is always the danger that we will get ahead of ourselves and go there expecting to win,” said Browne.
“Just because we beat Bemerton doesn’t mean we can just turn up at Fawley and win.”
Striker Dominic Allen will return and Browne hopes Stefan Penny (hip) will recover in time to take part.
Hammers: (from) Knights, Biles, Holland, Saunders, Horlock, Claremont, Lanahan, Stacey, Sturgess, Allen, Pekun, Head, Shovelton, Bassiriki, Hester, Chudy, Ayling, Penny.
