NEW-look Bournemouth made an encouraging start to their warm-up campaign with a convincing victory in a pre-season trial match on Saturday.
The Chapel Gate outfit ran in eight tries in a 52-25 home hammering of Glamorgan Wanderers.
Dan Connolly, Andy Graesser, Sam Hardcastle, Chris Hughes, Alan Manning, Ben Stewart, Alex Sutherland and Russell Westcott were all on the scoresheet, with Dan Pollard kicking five conversions and Ben Stevenson one.
Lions, under the management of ex-international Budge Pountney following his appointment during the close season, fielded a number of new recruits, while there were some familiar faces in the crowd, with the hope that spectators Karim Lynch and Jack Hennings will make playing returns in 2013-14.
However, the news was not all positive as hooker Frazer Wilford sustained a shoulder injury which could force him to miss the National Two South kick-off.
Lions will continue their preparations against Bedford Blues at Chapel Gate on Saturday (10 am). Admission is free.
