WIMBORNE Town striker Jamie Davidson has sustained a fractured wrist – but could still play on Saturday.
The former Cherries trainee suffered the injury when landing awkwardly following a heavy tackle in Magpies’ 2-1 home win over Godalming yesterday.
But depending on the severity of the fracture, Wimborne are hopeful that Davidson might line up against Evesham at Cuthbury this weekend.
Manager Steve Cuss told the Daily Echo: “They can’t put it in a cast until the swelling goes down.
“Jamie doesn’t want to miss any games and is keen to play on Saturday and Monday.”
Magpies claimed victory thanks to a Mark Gamble header and a Micky Hubbard penalty, either side of Dan Seabrook’s strike for visitors Godalming.
Cuss added: “It was a battling performance come the end of the game. At 2-1, the key was getting a third goal which we didn’t do and that made the last 10 minutes a bit edgy. But, overall, I was pleased with our performance.”
Magpies: Harvell, Arnold, Phillipson-Masters, Griffin, Brian, Blake, Davidson (Kemble, 62), Hubbard, Stokoe (Costello, 87), Gamble, Webb (Whitley, 64). Unused subs: Smith, Ackerman (g/k).
