JETTISONED Pirates star Kyle Howarth insists he will be out to prove a point when Swindon arrive at Wimborne Road in the Elite League today (4pm).
Howarth was binned by Poole Coastal Aluminium chief Matt Ford in May after Pirates made a shocking start to their bid to regain the top-flight title.
The Team GB under-21 captain scored 44 paid 50 in 10 Pirates meetings before being replaced and many Poole supporters felt the decision to drop the Manchester-based rider was harsh.
Howarth, who joined the Robins in July, told the Swindon Advertiser: “I definitely have a point to prove and I want to show everyone what I have been doing and what I’ve done for Swindon so this is an important meeting for me.
“I know the track pretty well and there’s no excuse there, so, hopefully, I can go there and have a good one.
“This is my job and it’s what I’m paid to do.
“Poole are coming on strong at the end of the season and it’s a hard meeting for us, but if we can hit them hard at the start we have a very good chance.”
Pirates: Darcy Ward, Tomas Jonasson, Greg Hancock, Rohan Tungate, Maciej Janowski, Josh Grajczonek, Micky Dyer.
Robins: Hans Andersen, Troy Batchelor, Kyle Howarth, Edward Kennett, RR for Peter Kildemand, Nick Morris, Kyle Newman (guest).
