HAMWORTHY United boss Simon Browne hopes to end his hapless run against bogey side and backmarkers Bournemouth Poppies in tomorrow’s derby at the County Ground (7.45pm).
Since taking charge of the Hammers, Browne has never savoured the taste of league success in seven matches against Ken Vaughan’s side with United on the receiving end of a league double last season.
But Browne, buoyed by a strong start to the campaign, is determined to pile more misery on pointless Poppies who still have several players nursing injuries.
The Hammers chief told the Daily Echo: “In my four years at the club, we have always struggled against them and we would like to put that to bed.”
Steele Saunders (suspended) is United’s only absentee but Greg Horlock returns while new boy Nick Taylor, a centre-half from Petersfield, may feature if his paperwork is completed in time.
Visiting manager Vaughan is hoping Aaron Corby will be fit enough to play but Martin Warren, Will Robinson and Fawzi Saadi are all doubtful.
Hammers: (from) Knights, Penny, Hester, Beckles, Biles, Sturgess, Lanahan, Stacey, Allen, Claremont, Chudy, Bassiriki, Head, Horlock, Holland, Taylor.
Poppies: (from) Lillington, Ayrton, Jackson, Clarke, Bartlett, Pearce, Cooper, Batchelor, Masson, Andrews, Burgis, Phillips, Crow, Turner, Lammali, Corby.
