CHERRIES' new owners have announced the first of their plans to revolutionise the club by slashing season ticket prices for next season.
Just days after assuming control at Dean Court, Jeff Mostyn and Steve Sly have revealed that ticket prices have been reduced in all areas - except the main stand centre and the Pullman seats - in a bid to attract more supporters into the stadium.
Sly told the Daily Echo: "There is a method to this and that is making sure we appeal to our fan base. If we alienate our own supporters, we're in big trouble so it's paramount that we do everything we can to please our paying customers.
"We promised the fans that there would be a price reduction on season tickets and we've stuck to that promise and delivered."
As well as significant savings for the regular Cherries fans, the club is also keen to attract more families through the turnstiles with free admittance for under-8s who attend with a paying customer anywhere in the stadium.
To encourage more families to take advantage of the family stand, the club will now be offering a family package (two adults plus two children) where the second child is free - with a 50 per cent reduction on additional children who are family members.
Another progressive change sees the under-16 price automatically include membership to the Junior Cherries Club, enabling all under 16s to watch 23 games for £90 and have the membership benefits of belonging to the Junior Cherries.
The club has also reduced the cost of season tickets for the other concession groups in many areas of the ground.
Although the 2007-08 match-day prices will not be announced until the new fixture list is published, Sly revealed that the club is considering following the lead of many other clubs by introducing a tiered structure for games.
Season tickets for the new campaign will go on a sale on Saturday.
Existing season ticket holders will receive their renewal packs through post in the week commencing Monday, March 26, while new season ticket holders should apply using either the application form printed in the Tranmere Rovers programme or obtain a form from the club.
Current season ticket holders are reminded they have until the end of May to renew their season tickets to secure their current seats.
