KEVIN Bond has cast his net among the local non-league ranks by inviting a trio of young stars to try their luck with Cherries.
Bashley pair Richard Gillespie and Pete Castle, together with AFC Totton's Mike Gosney, could head to Dean Court for a trial.
Bond is keen to tap into a market which saw former Cherries boss Mel Machin unearth both John Bailey and Wade Elliott in the 1990s.
Striker Gillespie, who once trained with the Cherries youth team, has been Bashley's leading goalscorer in each of the past three seasons.
And the 22-year-old's 32-goal haul this season has played a major role in helping the New Forest outfit lift the Southern League Division One South and West title.
Castle is a 20-year-old central defender who joined Bash from Eastleigh in November.
He made one appearance in the Championship for Reading as a 16-year-old.
Left-winger Gosney, who has also previously trained with the Cherries youth team, is also 20 and has just helped Totton book their place in the Vase final.
Bond told the Daily Echo: "Mike Gosney played in the same youth team as my son and when I used to watch him, I always thought he had something.
"He's got a sweet left foot and he did some training with Portsmouth when I was there and been here as well so he's clearly progressed.
"Totton have done exceptionally well to reach the final of the Vase and I would like to wish them all the best. The two lads at Bashley have both had terrific seasons and we've had them watched a couple of times.
"I'm sure nobody would want to stop a boy from progressing and if we get an opportunity to bring them in then it would be great.
"If the clubs don't want it to happen then it won't but if they do then it would be something that would be of interest to us. We'll give them an opportunity providing it suits everybody.
"We picked up Wade Elliott from Bashley and lots of players come through from non-league. It can be a good source for recruitment."
Meanwhile, Karl Broadhurst could hit the comeback trail when Cherries host Aldershot in the Pontin's Holidays Combination at Dean Court on Wednesday night.
