POOLE Town Cricket Club recorded double success in the East and South Dorset cup finals as they won the under-11 and under-12 competitions.

In the under-11 cup final, Poole batted first against Ellingham and scored 122 for three.

Notable contributions came from Joe Dennis (21), Harry Midgley (retired on 25) and Ben Wright (19*).

Ellingham’s best bowling figures were banked by Zack Basey as he took two for 17 in three overs.

In reply, Ellingham could not find a sizeable enough total as they were bowled out for 79, Theo Scott top-scoring with 24.

Poole’s Oscar Feingold took three for 11 in four overs and was awarded the man-of-the-match trophy.

In the under-12 final, Hamworthy opened the batting and worked their way to 96 for six in 18 overs.

Hamworthy’s Toby Berry retired on 25 and Josh Parsons scored 20 to see out a strong innings.

Sarah Matthews of Poole took three for eight and Joe Dennis one for 15.

In reply, Poole overtook Hamworthy's score in the 16th over, only losing two wickets on the way.

The Poole batsmen were on top form as Tim Jarvis retired on 26 and Will Tripcony scored an unbeaten 22.

Hamworthy’s Toby Berry did made it difficult for Poole, though, as he took one for five.

Matthews was awarded the player-of-the-match trophy.
