MARTIN Miller will today aim to end his second stint as Bournemouth captain on a high by leading his team to the Southern Premier League Division One title.

The 44-year-old has had the armband since 2013 but plans to step aside following the clash with Sarisbury Athletic at Chapel Gate (12.30pm).

Fourth-placed Lions have an outside chance of title glory but are reliant on results elsewhere.

Miller told the Daily Echo: "The rain that's around could be a factor. Sarisbury are missing their leading run scorer but we've got to beat them, otherwise we've got no chance.

"Hopefully, we can do that and other results go our way."

Subject to ratification at the club's annual meeting, current Dorset skipper Chris Park will assume the Bournemouth captaincy from Miller.

Asked if he would continue to play for the first XI next year, Miller added: "That will be up to Chris. I certainly intend to play although maybe not as regularly as I have while I've been captain. But if they want me to play then I will."

In the Premier Division, Bashley travel to St Cross, Lymington visit Alton and New Milton host South Wilts.
