MANAGER Lee Bellows saw his Wareham side concede two late goals as Hamworthy Recreation stole the points in an entertaining Dorset Premier League clash at Purbeck Sports Centre.

The hosts took the lead on 21 minutes when Richie Parsons swept home after a flowing move.

But a failure to build on their advantage cost Bellows’s charges with goals in the final five minutes from Mark Smith and Scott Logan clinching a 2-1 win for Rec.

“It was the story of our season so far,” said Bellows. “We played Hamworthy off the park and did all the right things throughout the game but we undid all the good stuff by conceding two goals from set-plays.

“We switched off for both with the first coming from a short corner and the second resulting from leaving Scott Logan unmarked to head home.”

Despite the disappointment of the defeat, Bellows is confident his side will soon embark on a winning streak.

“If we can improve our concentration when defending then we’ll start to see games out,” he added.

“Our work with the ball so far has been excellent and if we can just be a little better at both ends of the pitch then we’ll continue to progress.”

Wareham’s Purbeck rivals Swanage Town & Herston defeated Mere Town 4-2 in their latest Dorset Premier League clash.
