CHERRIES are reportedly interested in signing Porto’s teenage defender Diogo Queiros.
The Guardian suggests the club's recruitment staff have been impressed with the 19-year-old and say Cherries are "minded to make an offer for him soon".
It is said Cherries have had representatives in attendance to watch centre-back Queiros on several occasions for Porto B team this season.
However, the article also claims Cherries would need to "act quickly" as Porto are "hoping to convince Queiros to sign a new contract".
The Portuguese’s current deal runs until 2021 and contains a 25million euro release clause.
Porto are apparently prepared to increase his pay in order to insert a release clause that would be high enough to ward off potential suitors but they could be tempted to accept a bid in the region of £10m should the situation not be resolved.
Queiros's performances for Portugal at last summer’s European Under-19 Championship saw him included in UEFA’s team of the tournament.
It is reported he is "seeking assurances about whether he will be promoted to first team squad next season and is determined to take the best decision for his development".
Meanwhile, French newspaper L’Équipe claim Florian Chabrolle is set to reject a move to Vitality Stadium in favour of signing a pro deal with Marseille.
