CHERRIES keeper Mark Travers has been included in Mick McCarthy’s provisional Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2020 qualifiers.
The 19-year-old is part of the group selected for Group D fixtures against Gibraltar and Georgia later this month.
The Boys in Green, who appointed McCarthy as successor to Martin O'Neill in November, visit Gibraltar on March 23 and host Georgia three days later.
The full squad will be finalised on Sunday, March 17.
Former Shamrock Rovers youngster Travers will also be part of the under-21 squad for a home fixture against Luxembourg on Sunday, March 24.
McCarthy will then have the option to draft him into the senior setup ahead of the Georgia game at Aviva Stadium.
Travers, who had been on loan at Southern League South Weymouth last season, has featured for the Republic since under-15 level.
He has impressed since arriving at Vitality Stadium in the summer of 2016 and signed a long term contract with the club last July.
