RYAN Moss's time on the bench could be short-lived, with the forward set for a likely recall to the Bashley starting line-up tomorrow.
Moss, who has built up a formidable strike partnership with the highly rated Richard Gillespie, was surprisingly omitted from Bash's first choice XI for Tuesday's match against Cheshunt.
But, having made a big impact off the bench as a second half replacement for injury victim Matt Parnell, Moss could come back into the side for their FA Cup clash at Southern Premier Division rivals Chippenham Town (3pm).
Steve Riley will be without six first teamers for the trip to Wiltshire, so a switch to three at the back, which proved an instant hit on Tuesday night, could be the solution. Paul Gazzard will serve the first game of a four-match ban, while Gareth Keeping, Chris Knowles, Jeremy Tarr, Gary Middleton and Neil Morant are all injured.
"Three at the back, Steve Riley in the holding role and Dave Town just off the front two is certainly one option we'll be considering," admitted Bash assistant boss Eddie Harper.
The change in formation came when Parnell limped out of the action with a dead leg and two goals in as many minutes followed, with Town looking more of a threat in behind the front two. "The 3-4-1-2 is a possibility but they've got good players and come from wide areas so we're mindful of things like that," said Harper.
But he didn't rule out a return for Moss. Harper added: "He's a handful and I'm sure he'll get his chance again."
Chippenham and Bash have similar records in the league so far this season.
The Bluebirds are one position and just one point ahead of Riley's troops, while the teams drew 2-2 when they met at Hardenhuish Park in August.
