MARC Burrows set up a potentially lucrative second round tie against non-league big guns Aldershot Town - and also edged a step closer to earning a champagne night out.
Burrows's double took his personal tally for the season to 16, just nine short of the target set by Priory boss Graham Kemp.
And the striker's goalscoring exploits could hit Kemp hard in the pocket.
"Stupidly, I said I would take him for a champagne night out if he got 25 goals for the season," said Kemp. "I'm just hoping that Tesco Value champagne is quite nice!".
Burrows's brace, coupled with strikes from Ross Drew and Robbie Woolner, did the trick for Priory who can now look forward to the prospect of testing their skills against the Blue Square Premier leaders, who are managed by former Republic of Ireland international Gary Waddock.
And Kemp is looking forward to seeing his side pit their wits against a team from four leagues above.
"Money-wise, it's probably the best draw you can get," he told the Daily Echo.
"They are top of the Conference and it's a big game. Hopefully, it will be an evening game and the crowd will probably be 500-700.
"It will be a good day out for the whole club." Priory's victory at AFC Portchester was far from straightforward for Kemp's side, which had to show some grit to get through.
Drew fired Priory into the lead but the visitors then came under the cosh.
"If anything, we probably scored too early and they were probably the better side for the next half-an-hour," admitted Kemp.
"Our goalkeeper Dan Loader made two or three good saves."
The hosts equalised after an hour, which forced Kemp to change his formation from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2. And the switch immediately paid dividends with three goals in 10 minutes killing off the game.
Kemp was full of praise for new keeper Loader: "He played very well and made some good saves at good times.
"We defended well to keep us in the game. "It was probably the worst performance for three or four games but we won."
Christchurch: Loader, Dand, Hughes, Coleman, Crutchley, Jenvey, Drew (Collins 70), Lawrence (Manning 60), Burrows, Osborne (Rideout 65), Woolner.
