The biggest cup upset of the season so far came at the picturesque New Forest setting of Burley where the village team from Division Five of the Hayward Saturday League edged Division One high flyers Westovers Bournemouth out of the M A Hart Pickford Cup on penalties in the third round.
Burley stunned the visitors by taking the lead with a Kevin King strike midway through the first half but Tommy Harris bagged a 78th-minute equaliser for Westover. Extra time failed to produce a decisive goal and the tie went to penalties where Burley came out on top 7-6.
Cup holders Suttoners Civil are safely through after second-half goals from Danny Rattew (2) and Jesse Hodgson gave them a 3-0 victory over Cherry Bees from Division Four.
Ron Cole slotted home a hat-trick for Screw-it Carpentry and there were further goals from Derrant Blenman and John Ranson but Urban Bournemouth outgunned 7-5 thanks to Charlie Richards (2), Roy Leigh-Bryant, Ed Ewens' four goal blast.
Tom Flynn (2), Luke Brown, and Michael Roberts gave St Andrews a 4-1 victory over AFC Highcliffe while mike La Ronde and Chris Trimby gave Parley Sports the verdict 2-1 against Rockbourne.
Martin Sault and Sean Read netted for Dorset Knob but Verwood Town just got the better of them 3-2 after extra time thanks to Dean Evans (2) and Matt Newbery.
Westover Bournemouth Reserves booked their place in the semi-finals of the M A Hart Poole Bay Challenge Cup when Kieron Wall (2), Max Wilcock, and Marc Marengo ensured a convincing 4-0 win over Electric.
Their semi-final opponents will be Redhill Rangers after James Vallory (2) and Pete Valinski gave them the verdict 3-2 after extra time against Pennington who replied through Lee Palmer and a Hisham Douik penalty.
Mudeford Mens Club also went through 3-2 after extra time when they eased Ferndown Town out courtesy of Max Edgell, Steve Wardley, and a Sam Atkins penalty. Michael Haskell and Simon Talliss were the Ferndown scorers.
The winners of the other third round tie were Southbourne who ousted Old Oakmeadians 2-0 with goals from Gareth Weigh and Mark Ormerod.
Darren Stiles struck twice for Redlynch and Woodfalls United Reserves and, with further goals from Chris Nash, Tom Barrett, and Chris Jewell, they were 5-2 winners against Newton Con in the second round of the M A Hart Page Croft Cup while, in the third round, Neil Jobbins (2), James Cracknell, and Scott Assinder gave Walkford a 4-1 victory over Westover A.
