CHERRIES striker Sam Vokes maintained his rich vein of goalscoring form for Wales when he netted in their European Under-21 Championship victory over Malta last night.
The 17-year-old put Wales 3-0 up at the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham when he headed home from six yards following a cross by Swansea's Shaun MacDonald.
Vokes, who took his international goal tally to three in four appearances, played his part as Brian Flynn's youngsters coasted to the first victory of their qualifying campaign.
Meanwhile, Cherries are expected to complete the signing of Reading teenager Jem Karacan later today.
The 18-year-old central midfielder will pen a one-month loan deal after training with Kevin Bond's squad at Canford School this morning.
London-born Karacan, a Turkish under-19 international, will go straight into Cherries' injury-hit squad for Saturday's trip to League One rivals Millwall.
Cherries pair Jo Kuffour (virus) and Danny Hollands (groin) both missed training yesterday and could be doubts for the visit to the Den.
