VERWOOD Town twice came from behind to beat East Cowes Victoria 4-2 and stay in the Division One mix.
Adie Arnold was very pleased with his side's performance and character, having responded well to a weekend off last week.
He said: "They went 1-0 up and 2-1 up and we showed a lot of character coming back twice.
"It keeps our run going. What impressed me was how we didn't panic and looked the stronger side in the end.
"In that sort of game last year we'd have ended up with a draw but we played good football and got our rewards.
"The top five or six are pulling away now. Having had last week off I was worried we'd put in a shocking performance."
"It's against the top six sides that will decide where we finish in the league."
Another thing that pleased the Verwood boss was that four different scorers - Charlie Elysee, Pete King, Luke Homer and Dan Goodall - got the goals on Saturday.
"There's goals all around our side. We look dangerous in midfield and the two up front."
Verwood Town: Willis, Freeman (Beverley 75), Lynch, Yerby, Homer, Dyer (Giles ht), Arnold, Faulkner, Elysee, King, Goodall.
