CHERRIES goalkeeper Calum Ward has followed in the footsteps of Mark Travers and Will Dennis by joining Weymouth on a season-long youth loan.
The young stopper, part of the under-21 set-up at Vitality Stadium, signed his first professional contract with Cherries this summer.
He had played for Poole Town and Wareham Rangers as a youngster before joining Cherries in 2012.
He will get a taste of senior men’s football under the watchful eye of Weymouth manager Mark Molesley – who is also the assistant to Shaun Cooper in the under-21s at Cherries.
Ward is available to begin promoted Weymouth's league campaign, which begins at Maidstone United on Saturday, August 3.
