JOE Roach was uncharacteristically critical following Cherries' 3-0 defeat by unbeaten Puma Youth Alliance Group Three leaders Plymouth.
Goals from Brian McCaul and Toby Davis, coupled with a Joe Mason penalty, saw the Pilgrims leave Cherries' chances of reaching the knockout phase in the balance.
And despite being shorn of no fewer than eight first-choice players, Roach was still very unhappy with certain elements of his makeshift side's performance.
He said: "I shouted myself hoarse on the touchline, trying to get them going and working harder. That shouldn't be down to me because the players need to take that mantle. If they want to succeed in professional football, they need a positive attitude and a very high work-rate."
Cherries must win their final cup fixture at QPR on Saturday and also hope other results go in their favour to stand any chance of qualifying.
Cherries: Pryce, Queree, Stephenson (Hill, 71), Franks, Newton, Ayres (Wilson, 55), Webb, Cooper, Finlay, Preston, Kemble (Brown, 62).
