GARY Emerson's pending return to the Tour School was finally sealed at the Mallorca Classic on Friday.
The 44-year-old Wimborne professional failed to make the half-way cut after rounds of 75 and 76 for an 11-over-par total.
Emerson, who is currently 219th on the order of merit, needed a top-two finish to keep his playing privileges and avoid a trip to next month's gruelling Tour School tournament at San Roque.
The 2004 Russian Open champion, however, is exempt from the second qualifying stage that starts on November 7-10 in Spain.
But fellow Dorset professionals Shaun Webster and Lee James are among the 332 entries hoping to secure one of the 80 places that go forward to final qualifying the following week.
The event is played over four courses with Webster and James both teeing up at Costa Bellana.
Final qualifying at San Roque (November 15-20) is over six rounds with just 30 European Tour cards up for grabs.
