RYAN Hill looks set to be thrust into the action for Bashley's Southern Premier Division showdown at Yate Town tonight (7.45pm).

The young right-back is poised to make his debut for the New Forest club after joining on a month's loan from Blue Square South outfit Dorchester Town.

Hill's signing comes at a good time for Bash, who are still without suspended captain Paul Gazzard, as well as a number of other players due to injury.

Bash assistant boss Eddie Harper believes the 21-year-old's loan move will work out well for both parties.

"He was injured early in the season and worked his way back but needs games. Paul Gazzard is out, Ryan needs games, so it seems to suit," said Harper.

Middlesex-born Hill, who was with Millwall and Wimbledon as a youngster, is yet to play in Dorchester's first team this term after sustaining an ankle injury.

Steve Riley's troops will be hoping to protect an eight-match unbeaten run in the league, which includes back-to-back wins.

But Bash haven't played a league game for three weeks and will be hoping to erase memories of their most recent match - a 5-1 FA Cup drubbing at Chippenham Town - when they travel to Bristol.

Central defender Matt Parnell, who jarred a leg in the Chippenham defeat, is still sidelined, along with broken metatarsal victim Chris Knowles. Gary Middleton and Gareth Keeping are likely to return but Bash's biggest worry is over star striker Richard Gillespie.

The prolific frontman sat out a friendly against Bash's reserves on Saturday.

Bashley could come up against one-time Cherries trialist Matt Rawlins in tonight's game, as he plays up front for Yate.
