CHRISTCHURCH boss Graham Kemp has stressed he had "no problem" with Tyronne Bowers' late tackle that injured his goalkeeper Dan Loader.
First fears were that Loader had broken his arm in the 75th-minute challenge during Priory's 2-1 home win over VT FC on Tuesday.
But, following a visit to hospital, Kemp stressed the young custodian "had not broken anything" in the Sydenhams Cup second round clash at Hurn Bridge.
Kemp added: "Dan has a badly bruised arm, badly bruised ribs and a cut leg, and will need to rest for a few days."
VT midfielder Bowers had already been booked in the first half, after putting his side 1-0 ahead.
He was sent off after being issued with a second yellow card following his sliding challenge on Loader.
Asked if he had any complaints about Bowers' challenge, Kemp said: "It was late and wholehearted.
"However, keepers have to go down there with their hands and heads.
"In my opinion, Dan had the ball effectively in control and Tyronne was a second late.
"I've no qualms about the challenge. These things happen in football. I've seen a lot worse.
"It is just unfortunate keepers have to go in unprotected."
Kemp added: "Dan won't be available for our away game at Cowes Sports tomorrow but we have a free week next week so I hope he will be available after that.
"Dan Ackerman signed a month ago from Holt after he had been at Bournemouth Poppies last season.
"He has been patient the last three weeks and will get his chance in goal on Saturday."
Lowly Christchurch visit high-riding Cowes (3pm) in high spirits after late goals from Paul Rideout and Marc Burrows stunned VT.
Kemp, meanwhile, confirmed he didn't want to stop striker Ben Osborne advancing his career at Poole Town.
Priory's boss said: "I can't look him in the face and tell him I'm not letting you go to a team at the top of the league. These chances don't come very often. As much as we wanted to keep him, it technically is a step up the ladder for him."
Christchurch's scheduled visit to Aldershot in the Hampshire Senior Cup second round on Tuesday has been switched to November 27.
Christchurch: Ackerman, Dand, Hughes, Hodder, Costello, Cole-man, Drew, Lawrence, Burrows, Woolner, Rideout, Midgeley, Collins, Crutchley, Linpow, Till.
