OAKMEADIANS coach James Croker couldn't hide his delight after snaring London Welsh prop Stuart Bratt on loan until Christmas.
Bratt, who starred for the National One outfit at the back end of last season, has been sent to Meyrick Park for some crucial match practice after failing to nail down a starting place in Richmond this season.
And Croker admitted Welsh's loss is Oaks' gain as they look to cement their Southern Counties South promotion hopes against high-flying Trowbridge tomorrow (Meyrick Park, 2.30pm).
Croker said: "Stuart was playing for the London Welsh first team at the end of last season, so he's quality. But he needs games and that's why he's come here.
"He's not your stereotype prop. He's very mobile, a very good scrummager and will play on the loose or the tight.
"I'm chuffed to bits to have him. He's a very talented player."
Bratt will make his debut at Meyrick tomorrow, but Croker has been hit by the loss of both Rory Thompson and Giles Saynor, who are unavailable due to army commitments.
Ryan Stephenson could make his final Oaks appearance of the season from the bench before heading off to work the cruise ships, with Ed Baylis stepping into the centre.
Oaks: (from) Collins, Kurewaka, Tait, Baylis, Notobartolo, Tryska, Harman, Garrett, M Stephenson, Bratt, W Croker, Stradwick, Hennings, Flower, Hokianga, Riley, Porter, R Stephenson.
- Meanwhile, fellow Southern Counties South side Wimborne host fourth-placed Wootton Bassett at Leigh Park (2.30pm).
