PLAYING out of position did little to halt ex-Cherries forward Dave Town's fine form as he scored a "beautiful" goal to help Bashley progress in the FA Trophy.
Town's super strike was sandwiched between first-half goals from Jeremy Tarr and skipper Craig Davis as Bash raced into a 3-0 lead at the interval.
Leyton came out firing in the second half and pulled a goal back but Steve Riley's side remained solid to ensure their place in the draw for the next round.
Town again earned glowing praise from Bash assistant boss Eddie Harper after being used on the left side of midfield, with Justin Keeler unavailable having failed to overcome an ankle injury sustained in Tuesday's win over Yate Town.
"Dave Town being Dave Town means he will do a job there," said Harper.
"He's so comfortable on the ball and it was a beautiful goal he scored.
"Whether up front or in midfield it doesn't worry him too much."
Town's positional switch reunited strike partners Richard Gillespie and Ryan Moss up front for Bash.
"They caused trouble. It wasn't their turn to score but it will be. It's nice to see other people score from time to time," said Harper.
Central defender Pete Castle was again named man of the match for Bash after what Harper described as a "very, very solid" display.
He was joined in defence by Weymouth loanee Ryan Hill, drafted in for Bash in the absence of suspended skipper Paul Gazzard.
"He knows a couple of the lads and has slotted in quite well," said Harper.
"He's a great striker of the ball and he gives us another dimension down the right."
Harper revealed that the New Forest club really "fancy a run" in the competition.
He said: "We had a bye in the first round and are now into the third round, so we're very pleased.
"It's a little bit of kudos for the club. You've just got to keep it going and the momentum starts to build."
Saturday's win follows an excellent unbeaten run in the Southern Premier Division, which has seen Bash rise to fifth place, just four points off the league summit.
